It's a Bike Eat Bike World

I love bikes, all types... almost. But it can be hard to get a kick ass bike at times, especially if you don't know much about bikes.
I luckily have two great sturdy steeds. But the first thing I needed to figure out was what I needed in a bike.
This is my guide on bikes... from the perspective of a girl who didn't know a thing about bicycles five years ago and now lives in a bike world.

I'm going to avoid the topic of bmx mountain and hybrid bikes since it's not my cup of tea nor do I have much experience with any of these.

Road bike: For going the distance. These bikes range all over the $$$$ board but in general the purpose of a road bike is distance and endurance, longer treks take different gears and a reasonably light wait

Single speed: Personally I feel this is the easiest bike to have. Both easy to use and easy to fix.

I even happen to have two of them because I love them so much. Simple maintenance and really just easy enough that anyone could ride it. Also the Geometry is that of a track bike most of the time so you have the speed of a fixie.

Fixed gear: The bike of the messenger as well as the velodrome.  Control and gripping to the ground. Seriously helps if you know how to ride well, suddenly you also control everything entirely with your legs. Skidding and slowing down aren't the same as on a road bike or single speed. You can ride brakeless but I'd suggest having a front brake anyways, especially if you intend on going anywhere over 20km/h.




















Cruiser: The bike made for comfort, not speed. If leisure is your strong suit, sitting upright on a cruiser bike may very well be your speed.

Gas Lighting

I feel we should talk about a very serious topic, one I'm well aware of and feel really hurts us as a people not just as individuals.
I want to let you all know that your opinions, thoughts, feeling,s and beliefs are ALWAYS VALID.
You are NOT crazy, irrational, pmsing, or any other negative that society has told you when you speak your mind.

You are to believe in yourself, not doubt. This goes for everyone not just women.
It infuriates me to see the belittling of others at any time, be it at school, work or home.
We need to put an end to this gas lighting and stand for ourselves and each other, as a society en masse.

No time for a Manif tonight? Protest at work!

So, it's fair to assume you can't go to a protest every single night. I know I can't. But you can wear the red and black proudly in the work environment as well. What to wear to a Manif

If you're like me and love to go to a nice night demonstration is the beautiful streets of Montreal, this will give you a good fashion base for the summer of red and black.

For the terribly trendy Manif Date night try a nice tailored jacket.
